Do you want to create a bootable Windows 10 USB drive without formatting it?

We all know that most tools like Rufus and Media Creation Tool format the USB drive copying the files and making it bootable. There are other tools like WinToFlash and Passcafe ISO burner, they all require you to format the drive before making it bootable.

In this guide you will learn how to create a bootable Windows 10 drive without having to format it. In other words you can create your own USB drive without losing data that you may have no place to leave for later use.

EasyBCD is a free tool (for personal use) designed to help you create a bootable Windows 7/8/10 USB drive without erasing data. This tool also allows you to change boot settings on your system so make sure you select you USB drive in this guide and not your system drive.

Also make sure you use this method on a FAT32 USB drive and not NTFS. If your USB drive is formatted using NTFS mode this tutorial won’t work.
